The Engineering Challenge
Good2Go's automated access control platform empowers mobile users to seamlessly unlock secure commercial and retail facilities. However, rapid multi-market expansion caused the legacy single-region cloud infrastructure to experience severe bottlenecks during morning and evening peak traffic spikes.
High latency in mobile-to-cloud handshakes led to 4-5 second door unlock delays, degraded mobile app responsiveness, and occasional connection drops. Good2Go required a zero-downtime cloud modernization with multi-region high availability, military-grade access security, and sub-150ms unlock execution at scale.
Our Architectural Solution
We architected and executed a comprehensive cloud migration to a multi-region AWS containerized infrastructure managed entirely through Infrastructure as Code (Terraform). The new architecture leverages Amazon ECS with AWS Fargate for elastic serverless container orchestration, coupled with Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL Multi-Region global databases for active-active low-latency data replication.
To eliminate latency at the physical access point, we implemented CloudFront edge computing with localized token verification, slashing door-unlock roundtrip times down to 120ms. We also established automated blue/green CI/CD deployment pipelines, automated security scanning, and multi-zone failovers guaranteeing 99.999% service availability while cutting recurring cloud infrastructure expenditures by 35%.
